Do you qualify for an Award?

Award Application Summary Requirement (applied to all Awards)

To be considered for a CHRO 2024 Award, applicants are required to submit a summary, not exceeding 250 words, detailing why they believe they deserve to win. This summary should concisely articulate their achievements, contributions to the field of microbiology, and any other relevant factors that make them a standout candidate for the award. The summary must be a genuine reflection of the applicant’s professional journey and impact in the discipline.

ELGIBILITY CRITERIA

Best Early Career Researcher Award (AUD$1,000):

This award is dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating new or emerging career researchers and give them a platform to present their research.

  • The primary author must be the presenter
  • The applicant must be within a specific number of years since obtaining their highest academic degree (e.g., within 5 years of earning a Ph.D. or equivalent).
  • The research submitted must be related to Campylobacter, Helicobacter or Related Organisms
  • The applicant should have a track record of publications or contributions in the field of microbiology.
  • The applicant may be required to provide evidence of their early career status, such as a CV.

Discovery Award (AUD$1,000):

    This award aims to acknowledge exceptional accomplishments or groundbreaking advancements in research and innovation.

    • The primary author must be the presenter
    • The research submitted must be innovative and have the potential to make a significant impact in the field of Campylobacter, Helicobacter or Related Organisms.
    • The applicant must provide a clear explanation of the novelty and potential impact of their research.

    Data Innovation Award (AUD$1,000):

    This award aims to acknowledge notable accomplishments in leveraging data to address challenges, generate insights, and propel advancements across research.

    • The primary author must be the presenter
    • The research must showcase innovative and impactful use of data in the field of Campylobacter, Helicobacter or Related Organisms.
    • The applicant should provide examples or evidence of how data-driven approaches have advanced their or others research.
    • Emphasis should be placed on the use of data analysis, modelling, or informatics in microbiology research.

    Outstanding Woman in Research Award (AUD$1,000):

    This award aims to recognise and promote gender diversity, equity, and inclusion in research.

    • The primary author must be the presenter
    • The applicant must identify as a woman.
    • The research submitted should demonstrate excellence and impact in the field of Campylobacter, Helicobacter or Related Organisms.
    • The applicant may be required to provide information about their contributions to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in research.

    First Nations/Aboriginal Researcher Award (AUD$1,000):

    This award is dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating the valuable contributions of First Nations/ Aboriginal researcher to a community.

    • The primary author must be the presenter
    • The applicant must identify as a First Nations or Aboriginal researcher.
    • The research submitted should be related to Campylobacter, Helicobacter or Related Organisms.
    • The applicant may be required to provide evidence of their cultural background and research contributions to a community.
